LAHORE: Hafiz Farhat Abbas, the parliamentary leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Punjab Assembly, has announced his resignation from the position.
In a post on the social media platform X, Abbas explained that his bail in the cases related to the events of May 9 had been rejected. Due to this, he expressed that he could no longer effectively carry out his duties as the parliamentary leader under the current circumstances.
Abbas mentioned that he has formally submitted his resignation to the party and has requested PTI Founder Imran Khan to accept his decision to step down from the role.
However, Abbas emphasized that he will continue to support his leader by remaining a member of the Punjab Assembly and serving as a dedicated party worker.
