Gujranwala: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case against four officers of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and four private individuals on charges of bribery, kidnapping, and misuse of authority.
According to the FIA, the case was registered by FIA Circle Gujranwala against NCCIA Sub-Inspectors Ameer Hamza and Mujahid Ali, ASI Shehroz, and staff officer Allah Yar. The FIR also names private facilitators Haji Waqar, Asim Mahmood, Usman Ali, and Nauman Ali.
The FIA confirmed that ASI Shehroz and Allah Yar have been arrested following a raid, while efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
An FIA spokesperson said the case was registered on the complaint of Muzafar Iqbal, who alleged that NCCIA officers illegally abducted his four sons by falsely accusing them of involvement in cryptocurrency and online trading activities.
According to the FIR, the officers demanded a bribe of Rs50 million for the release of the victims. However, after receiving Rs3 million, the officers allegedly released the complainant’s sons.
Following an inquiry, the FIA registered the case against all eight accused and initiated further investigations. Raids are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects involved in the alleged crime.
