ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted challan (charge sheet) under the Official Secrets Act in a special court, finding former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi guilty in the cypher case.
The submitted charge sheet urges the court to initiate a trial against Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood for their alleged offenses.
Former PTI secretary general Asad Umar is not listed among the accused by the FIA. Former Principal Secretary Azam Khan has turned into a witness for the FIA, with his statements under sections 161 and 164 attached to the charge sheet.
According to sources, the FIA alleges that Chairman PTI, Imran Khan, misused the State Secrets Act by retaining a cipher. Although the cipher was delivered to Imran Khan, it reportedly was not returned as per the contents of the charge sheet.
