Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that India-backed militant groups are pursuing an anti-people and anti-development agenda designed to destabilise Pakistan, particularly Balochistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made these remarks while addressing participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasised that Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan, home to patriotic and resilient people who are the province’s real strength. He highlighted that the region’s vast economic potential must be harnessed for the welfare of its people, in line with ongoing federal and provincial development initiatives focused on public welfare and inclusive growth.
Commending the positive role of civil society and youth in nation-building, he said that empowering young people is essential for sustainable progress. He urged them to reject divisive and self-serving political narratives and instead contribute to Balochistan’s long-term prosperity.
Addressing the security situation, the army chief said, “Groups backed by India, operating under the banners of Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij, are advancing an agenda hostile to Pakistan’s people and development.” He assured that the Pakistan Army is taking all necessary measures to eliminate terrorism and secure Balochistan from such threats.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance for regional peace, Field Marshal Asim Munir warned that any attempt to violate Pakistan’s sovereignty would be met with a decisive response. He reiterated that Pakistan seeks peace and stability but will defend every inch of its territory.
Earlier, addressing the passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul, Field Marshal Munir categorically warned India that “there is no room for war in a nuclear environment.” He reminded India’s military leadership that Pakistan’s defense capabilities ensure peace through strength, and any provocation would invite a swift and firm response.
