In a series of landmark diplomatic engagements, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, carried out official visits to Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, reinforcing Pakistan’s growing stature as a central figure in regional security, defense collaboration, and Muslim world unity. The Field Marshal Asim Munir’s Middle East visits served as a powerful display of Pakistan’s proactive military diplomacy and strategic outreach across key Arab nations.
During these high-level meetings, Field Marshal Munir met with top leadership in all three countries, who expressed complete confidence in the professionalism and capability of Pakistan’s armed forces. The discussions covered vital areas including counter-terrorism cooperation, enhanced intelligence sharing, and joint defense initiatives aimed at ensuring collective regional stability.
These visits were hailed as a significant symbol of military solidarity among Muslim nations amid a changing geopolitical landscape. Analysts noted that Pakistan’s defense diplomacy under Field Marshal Munir is reshaping regional alliances, deepening cooperation, and promoting peace through strategic partnerships.

Parallel to the COAS’s visits, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh. Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, and senior cabinet members from both nations, the Prime Minister discussed trade, investment, and regional cooperation.
PM Sharif is attending the 9th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference in Riyadh, representing Pakistan at one of the world’s leading investment forums. The event brings together global leaders, policymakers, and investors to explore sustainable development, innovation, and inclusive growth.
Marking a historic milestone, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have also signed a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA), declaring that any aggression against one country will be considered aggression against both. This pact further solidifies Pakistan’s defense partnership with Saudi Arabia, strengthening its position as a trusted ally and a decisive voice in the Muslim world.
