Rawalpindi, 27 June 2025 – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), met with probationary officers from the 52nd Common Training Program (CTP) of the Civil Services Academy. The session was held at the Army Auditorium and marked a key step in building stronger Pakistan civil-military relations.
The probationary officers had earlier been attached to various Pakistan Army units. These included peace-time postings as well as operational locations in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. Their time with the formations provided valuable exposure. They interacted with personnel from all three services and visited different military setups.
This initiative was part of a broader national program. Its goal is to improve institutional collaboration and promote trust between Pakistan’s civil and military institutions. The meeting with the Army Chief symbolized this shared objective.
In his address, Field Marshal Asim Munir spoke on several critical matters. He discussed national security priorities and the internal and external threats facing the country. He also outlined the Pakistan Army’s central role in maintaining regional peace and internal stability. He stressed the importance of unity between institutions for the success of Pakistan’s strategic and development goals.
The COAS emphasized that a competent, honest, and service-oriented bureaucracy is essential. He urged the young officers to serve with integrity and professionalism. He asked them to show patriotic dedication in their future roles. Such commitment, he said, is vital for the progress of the nation.
The Field Marshal highlighted the significance of strong Pakistan civil-military relations. He called for mutual respect and closer coordination between the military and civil leadership. Only through shared national purpose, he said, can Pakistan move forward.
Participants of the 52nd CTP showed great appreciation for the opportunity. They said the interaction helped them understand the military’s strategic approach. They also praised the Army’s contribution to national defense, development, and resilience.
The visit concluded with a lively question-and-answer session. This open exchange reflected a spirit of cooperation and joint responsibility. It also highlighted the determination of both the military and the civil officers to work for Pakistan’s future.
