PESHAWR: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has stated that addressing the damage caused to families by the recent rains is a top priority. During meetings with parliamentarians and other party leaders from the province’s four regions, the Chief Minister mentioned that nearly 600 development projects, nearing completion, have been identified and are expected to be finished by December this year.
He emphasized that ongoing development projects are being prioritized, and, in line with Imran Khan’s vision, development project decisions are being decentralized to the local level. Discussions during the meetings also covered resolving public issues in constituencies, public welfare projects, particularly the restoration of infrastructure affected by monsoon rains, and relief activities.
The Chief Minister highlighted that development projects should be initiated at the local level, monitored effectively, and completed within the set timeframe. Elected representatives are urged to propose projects based on local needs and public priorities. He stressed that taxpayers’ money used for development projects will be managed wisely, and projects will only be inaugurated when they are fully completed and services are operational—just putting up a nameplate will not suffice.
Ali Amin Gandapur also mentioned that efforts are underway to strengthen local government institutions to address public issues at the local level. Funds have already been allocated for the restoration of infrastructure affected by the monsoon rains, and restoration and relief activities will be carried out on a priority basis. Addressing the damages caused to affected families will be the primary focus, with no resource constraints hindering recovery efforts.
Additionally, the Chief Minister discussed matters related to making the August 5th rally in Swabi a success. He noted that the rally, called by Imran Khan, is expected to be a successful and historic event, with full participation from party workers and the public across the province. Ali Amin Gandapur stated that the rally will demonstrate the public’s strength. During the meeting, elected representatives and party leaders expressed their commitment to making the August 5th rally a historic event.
