Gilgit Baltistan: Preparations have been finalized for a five-day anti-polio vaccination drive set to kick off on October 2 in Gilgit Baltistan. The campaign is scheduled to run until October 6, 2023. Throughout the campaign, children under five years old will receive both the polio vaccine and vitamin A. The administration remains committed to administering polio shots to young children, with directives issued to relevant institutions to guarantee widespread vaccination across the district.
During this comprehensive anti-polio drive across all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, over 250,000 children below the age of five are targeted for vaccination. To achieve success in this campaign, Deputy Commissioners across the region, scholars, political and social leaders, as well as representatives from print, electronic, and social media, have been appealed to actively contribute and bolster its effectiveness.
