Five Suspects Arrested in Muzaffarabad as Security Forces Foil Alleged Attack Plot

MUZAFFARABAD: Five suspects arrested in Muzaffarabad during a successful intelligence-based operation carried out by law enforcement agencies in the Chehla area, according to security sources.

The targeted raid was launched following a tip-off. Authorities detained five individuals and seized laptops, mobile phones and other communication devices during the operation.

Initial investigations reportedly uncovered suspicious contacts and sensitive material stored on the digital devices. During questioning, investigators recovered a large cache of weapons based on information provided by one of the suspects.

Officials said the recovered arsenal included seven automatic weapons, several grenades and other military-grade equipment. Authorities also found maps of sensitive installations, documents related to important locations and alleged plans for future attacks.

According to sources, investigators are examining evidence of suspected links with a hostile foreign intelligence agency. Forensic and technical analysis of the seized mobile phones, laptops and other materials remains underway.

Law enforcement agencies are also investigating possible facilitators, sources of funding and any wider network connected to the suspects.

Security officials said the timely operation helped prevent potential threats to sensitive installations and public safety. They stressed that activities against state security, public order and national interests would not be tolerated.

Authorities said strict legal action would be taken against anyone involved in activities that threaten national security. The public has also been urged to report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities as investigations continue.
