Five Terrorists Killed in Attock During CTD Intelligence-Based Operation

At least five terrorists killed in Attock during an intelligence-based operation carried out by the Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on the outskirts of the district on Tuesday, officials said.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was launched after authorities received credible intelligence about the presence of militants in the area.

A fierce exchange of fire erupted when the suspects opened fire on the CTD team. Security personnel responded immediately, leading to a gun battle in which five militants were killed.

Officials said weapons, ammunition, hand grenades and explosive material were recovered from the slain suspects.

Initial intelligence suggests the militants were planning major attacks in Punjab, the CTD said.

A search operation is continuing in the border areas of Attock to trace any facilitators or accomplices and to ensure that no suspects managed to escape.

Authorities have begun the process of identifying the deceased militants, while further investigations remain underway.

Officials reaffirmed their commitment to continuing counterterrorism operations across Punjab to maintain law and order and prevent potential security threats.
