ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister and Vice Prime Minister Ishaq Dar met with China’s Executive Vice Prime Minister to discuss several key issues.
According to a spokesperson from the Foreign Office, senior officials from both sides attended the meeting. During the discussion, the Foreign Minister expressed his condolences for the victims of the March 26 Shangla attack.
Ishaq Dar assured that the culprits would be brought to justice and commended the services of the Chinese workers who lost their lives.
The Foreign Office spokesperson reported that the meeting covered the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Both leaders explored various aspects of bilateral relations, including trade, economic cooperation, and investment.
The discussion also touched on connectivity through the Khunjerab border crossing and the facilitation of the visa system. They agreed to sustain the growing momentum of Pakistan-China relations across all areas of cooperation and to strengthen the friendship between the two nations.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reviewed the progress made by CPEC in energy and infrastructure, expressing confidence in the positive outcomes expected from the second phase in sectors such as industry, agriculture, and mineral development.
The Executive Vice Premier of China reiterated China’s full support for Pakistan in all areas of cooperation, including the economy, trade, and investment. He emphasized the importance of the swift implementation of CPEC projects for mutual prosperity and development.
