ISLAMABAD – A former top Afghan military official has openly confirmed what Pakistan has been warning for years: Afghanistan, under Taliban rule, has become a hub for anti-Pakistan terrorism, with full financial and strategic backing from India.
In a bombshell interview with journalist Rahman Bunairee, General Sami Sadat, ex-Commander of Afghan Special Operations Forces and former Director of Military Intelligence, admitted that the Afghan Taliban are deeply involved in destabilizing Pakistan.
He echoed Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, who recently accused the Taliban of working hand-in-glove with India against Pakistan’s national security interests.
“The Taliban maintain close ties with India,” General Sadat confirmed.
“They provide shelter and financial support to terrorist groups like Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Baloch separatists,” he added.
The general revealed that the Taliban receive direct funding from India, which is then funneled to terror outfits responsible for countless attacks inside Pakistan. He also confirmed that these groups are backed and trained inside Afghan territory with full Taliban protection.
This statement is a damning indictment of the Taliban regime and exposes its dual game of pretending to seek peace while actively sponsoring bloodshed across the border.
Pakistan has repeatedly raised concerns at international forums regarding the unholy alliance between India and the Taliban. General Sadat’s revelations further validate Islamabad’s claims that Afghanistan has become a breeding ground for terrorism, nurtured and financed by Indian intelligence agencies.
The latest confirmation from a senior Afghan military insider unmasks the real threat emanating from Afghanistan — not just to Pakistan but to regional peace at large.
