LONDON: Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa encountered harassment from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters during his visit to London, where he was attending a ceremony held in his honor at the prestigious Middle Temple by The Honourable Society.
Qazi Faez Isa, the first Pakistani judge to be invited to a Tuesday dinner at Middle Temple, was on his way to the historic event when a group of PTI activists gathered, protesting his presence. The protesters reportedly attempted to block Isa’s vehicle, provided by Pakistan’s High Commission, and even tried to smash its windows. Despite a police escort, the activists briefly obstructed the vehicle’s path, chanting slogans as they ran alongside.
PTI leaders Zulfi Bukhari, Malika Bukhari, and Azhar Mashwani addressed the crowd near Middle Temple, voicing opposition to Isa’s judicial record. The gathering underscored ongoing tensions between PTI supporters and judiciary figures perceived as critical of their party.

The event at Middle Temple, which celebrated Isa’s accomplishments and constituted judicial benches, was a significant international honor for the former CJP. Isa and his wife, Sarina, were unharmed, and the protest eventually subsided without further incident.
This episode mirrors a similar incident last year when PTI supporters harassed Humayun Dilawar, the judge who convicted PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case, while he was in London.
