Former cricketer Hanif’s son Muhammad Zaryab commits suicide

KARACHI: The son of former international cricketer Aamer Hanif, Muhammad Zaryab committed suicide after being heartbroken over non-selection in an Under-19 cricket team.
According to Aamer Hanif, who represented Pakistan in five ODIs during the 1990s, his son was upset after he was declared overage to be selected for the U-19s.
Zaryab – who was the first-year student at college and Hanif’s oldest son – hanged hanged himself to death the previous day.
Hanif has alleged that the coaches’ behavior forced him to take his own life as he was pressurized.
The deceased’s funeral prayers will be offered today.
