Former PML-N lawmaker disqualified for 5 years over anti-judiciary rally

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) former lawmaker of National Assembly Sheikh Waseem has been disqualified for five years in a case pertaining to anti-judiciary rally in Kasur.
The Lahore High Court on Friday in its verdict also sentenced Waseem to one-month imprisonment along with three other suspects.
The court had reserved the verdict, also imposing fine Rs. 100,000 on each of the accused, on June 26,
The suspects were accused of organizing a rally and passing anti-judiciary remarks after the Supreme Court banned former premier Nawaz Sharif from contesting elections for life.
