Four Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers were martyred in a deadly Karak attack on Tuesday. The incident took place within the Gurguri police station limits, in the Amankot Toway area of Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to reports, the FC personnel were returning from field security duty when the assault happened. Armed militants, already positioned on a nearby mountain, opened heavy fire on their moving vehicle. The sudden ambush left all four soldiers martyred on the spot.
Initial information reveals that the martyrs belonged to Lakki Marwat and Tank districts. Their bodies have been shifted to a local medical facility. Families of the fallen soldiers have been informed.
Soon after the Karak attack, police and security forces moved swiftly to secure the area. District Police Officer (DPO) Karak, Shahbaz Elahi, told the media that a joint search operation was launched in the surrounding hills. He confirmed that all entry and exit points in the region have been sealed to prevent the militants from fleeing.
