KARACHI: Four terrorists associated with the banned group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi were arrested from Karachi in a joint operation of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other law enforcement agencies.
The joint operation was carried out in the SITE area of Karachi on a tip-off.
As per the CTD spokesperson, the detained terrorists, identified as Amin (aka Munna), Shahnawaz (aka Saleem Mechanic), Maaz Khan, and Yaseen, had established a covert cell for the banned organization in Karachi’s Orangi Town area.
The CTD spokesperson disclosed that the arrested terrorists are implicated in multiple target-killing incidents in Manghopir and Pakistan Bazaar areas. They are also accused of the murders of Maulana Rahim and Shamim Khan in the Iqbal Market area of Karachi, as well as the killing of Maulana Rahimullah.
It was further revealed that Amin (aka Munna) has previously served over nine years in jail for 27 murder cases, while Shahnawaz (aka Saleem) had been incarcerated for nine months in connection with multiple murder cases.
During the operation, the police confiscated three pistols and a motorcycle from the possession of the detained terrorists.
