Gen Raheel visits Pakistan Ordnance Factories

RAWALPINDI: General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Tuesday paid his second visit to Pakistan Ordnance Factories in Wah Cantt to review its progress of envisaged modernization and capacity enhancement, Samaa reported.
General Sharif appreciated POF efforts to meet total requirement of arms and ammo for ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb and going way beyond meeting the set targets, Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt. Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa wrote on his Twitter account.
The army chief emphasized a need for further technological upgradation to optimize output, become fully self-reliant in arms and ammo needs for paramilitary forces and other law enforcement agencies, the DG ISPR said.
Noticing growing export potential due to newly attained quality standards, the COAS directed POF to explore new markets and focus on increasing exports, Bajwa added.
