General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Peshawar on Friday to reinforce the commitment of the Pakistan Army to national security. He emphasized the ongoing partnership with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to tackle those who threaten peace. His remarks came after the National Apex Committee meeting on November 19, 2024, and ahead of the Provincial Apex Committee meeting.
During his visit, General Munir received a detailed briefing on the current security situation in the region. The briefing also covered the progress of counter-terrorism efforts. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, and senior field commanders were present for the session.
General Munir paid tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis. He described their sacrifices as the foundation of the nation’s resilience. The COAS highlighted that the sacrifices of these brave individuals inspire the unwavering determination of both the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies in their fight for national security.
He reiterated that these sacrifices are a driving force behind the Army’s commitment to ensuring lasting stability and security in the country.
