German Doctor Marries Pakistani Youth in Mandi Bahauddin

A 26-year-old German doctor has travelled to Mandi Bahauddin to marry a Pakistani youth after their friendship, which began online, turned into love.

The groom, 22-year-old Muhammad Akmal, belongs to village Defar in Mandi Bahauddin. According to the couple, they first connected through the online game Roblox, where their conversations gradually developed into a close bond.

Speaking to a YouTube news channel, Akmal said the two remained in contact online for around five months before Salma decided to visit Pakistan and marry him.

“I proposed to her on the very first day,”

Akmal said, adding that after some initial hurdles, Salma agreed and travelled to Pakistan.

Salma said that upon arriving in Pakistan, she was initially surprised by village life and daily routines, but felt happy to be with her husband.

She shared that household tasks such as washing clothes, doing dishes, and making roti were new experiences for her.

“It was difficult in the beginning, but I learned with time,” she said.

Akmal said both families fully supported the marriage, and the wedding cost around Rs4.5 million, including travel expenses and wedding arrangements.

Salma holds dual nationality — German and Bosnian — and has expressed her desire to live in Pakistan with her husband.

She is also learning Punjabi and Urdu to improve communication with her family and community. Akmal said life after marriage has been happy, with both partners treating each other with love and respect.

Social media users have widely praised the couple for their simplicity, sincerity, and affection, describing the marriage as a successful example of cross-cultural love and how online friendships can turn into real-life relationships.
