Web Desk: Gold prices in Pakistan have hit a new all-time high, as the rate of one tola crossed Rs 550,000 for the first time in history.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold rose by a massive Rs 21,100 per tola in the local market, taking the new rate to Rs 551,961.
Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs 18,090, reaching Rs 472,961.
Silver prices also recorded a sharp jump. The rate of one tola of silver rose by Rs 271, hitting a record level of Rs 11,911.
In the international market, gold prices surged as well. After an increase of $211 per ounce, the global gold rate reached $5,293 per ounce.
Market experts say rising international prices and economic uncertainty continue to push precious metal rates higher in Pakistan.
