Government Announces Official Public Holidays for 2026

The federal government has officially announced the list of public holidays for the year 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, several national, religious, and public holidays will be observed across the country during the year.

As per the notification, Kashmir Day will be observed on February 5, while Pakistan Day will be marked as a public holiday on March 23.

For Eid-ul-Fitr, public holidays will be observed on March 21, 22, and 23, 2026. Labour Day will be celebrated on May 1, and a public holiday will be observed on May 28 in connection with Youm-e-Takbeer.

The Cabinet Division further stated that Eid-ul-Azha holidays will fall on May 27, 28, and 29, 2026.

Meanwhile, Independence Day will be observed on August 14, while a public holiday will be given on August 25 on account of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (ﷺ).

Additionally, Allama Iqbal Day will be observed on November 9, while Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas will be marked with a public holiday on December 25.
