Islamabad: Religious Affairs Minister Aneeq Ahmed announced the federal government’s decision to extend the deadline for receiving Hajj applications by 10 days.
Minister Aneeq emphasized that both the regular and sponsor schemes would benefit from this extension, addressing concerns about the lower number of applications due to financial constraints despite a reduced cost package compared to the previous year.
During a Senate Standing Committee meeting, Ministry of Religious Affairs officials revealed a 100,000 reduction in Hajj expenses, with ongoing efforts to provide additional relief for pilgrims.
Abdul Ghafoor Haideri mentioned the establishment of a sub-committee to engage with the caretaker prime minister for further consideration.
Simultaneously, the Senate Standing Committee on Religious Affairs unanimously approved a resolution condemning atrocities in Gaza.
Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri stressed the need to prosecute Israel and its supporters for war crimes, advocating for their punishment by the International Court of Justice.
