Govt focuses on improvement in health, education in FATA: Governor

PESHAWAR: KP Governor Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra says that incumbent Government is focusing on the improvement of education and health sector in FATA so that tribal youth can come at par with the developed areas of the country and could utilize their talent in the prosperity of the country.
He expressed these views while presiding over a high level meeting at Governor’s House, Peshawar on Wednesday.
Besides other, Haoliang Xu, Director UNDP. Neil Buhne, UN Resident Coordinator, Ignacio Artaza Country Director, Additional Chief Secretary FATA Fida Wazir, Principal Secretary to Governor Sikandar Qayyum also attended the meeting.
The Governor said that steps are being taken for the implementation of reforms in FATA to bring the tribal region into the mainstream so that the tribal areas could be developed. FATA reforms would change the fate of the tribal people and will provide job opportunities to the tribal people, he added. Governor also appreciated the support of UNDP and International Community in the development of FATA.
