ISLAMABAD: In a significant move ahead of Independence Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government has announced substantial cuts in petroleum prices, offering much-needed relief to the public.
Under the new announcement, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 8.47 per liter, bringing it down to Rs 260.96 per liter. Similarly, the cost of high-speed diesel has been lowered by Rs 6.70 per liter, with the new rate set at Rs 266.07 per liter.
This adjustment in fuel prices is expected to provide some relief to citizens grappling with rising living costs. The reduction is seen as a major gesture by the government to alleviate financial pressures on the public, particularly amid ongoing economic challenges.
