Gulalai approaches IHC for removing name from ECL

ISLAMABAD: The rights activist and leader of Pushtun Tehaffaz Movement (PTM) Gulalai Ismail has filed an application in Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking to strike off her name from Exit Control List (ECL).
She told the court that she was detained by FIA at Islamabad airport following her return from London on October 12, 2018, and FIA officials informed that her name has been placed on ECL.
The petitioner told the court that she had not used anti-military language during a public gathering, therefore, the court should issue orders to remove his name from ECL.On October 20, she was arrested briefly and released on interim bail after her return at Islamabad airport.
Swabi police on Aug 13 registered an FIR against 19 PTM leaders, including Ismail, for their involvement in a public gathering in Swabi where PTM’s Manzoor Pashteen and Ismail both addressed the crowd.
PTM leaders said that they had already challenged the FIR in the Peshawar High Court and the next hearing of the case is on Oct 25.
