Hassaan Niazi handed over to Karachi police

KARACHI: The Karachi police on Tuesday took custody of Hassaan Khan Niazi, nephew of PTI Chairman Imran Khan after an anti-terrorism court granted his two-day transit remand to Sindh police۔

The District East Police took Niazi’s custody for interrogation in case lodged against him on the complaint of a citizen named Muhammad Iqbal in the Jamshaid Quarters police station.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hassaan Niazi and his accomplices have been booked in a separate case in Karachi for inciting people to revolt against national institutions.

According to the text of the FIR, Hassaan Niazi was involved in inciting people to revolt against national institutions and attempted to provoke disharmony in a video on social media. The statement has created anger and distress among the masses, the FIR further said.

It is important to mention here that Barrister Hassan, the nephew of former prime minister Imran Khan, was first arrested by Islamabad police from outside Judicial Complex, despite securing bail.

Niazi was then moved to Quetta where a case had been registered against him for inciting violence and interfering in government affairs.

On Saturday, a local court in Balochistan granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s nephew.
