Islamabad: Hiba Fawad, the spouse of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry, has raised allegations of a police attempt to arrest her.
In a video shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Hiba Fawad disclosed, “I declared two days ago that my husband, Fawad Chaudhry, will contest elections from jail.
I will lead his election campaign, formalizing the announcement through a press conference.”
She asserted that during her attempt to hold a press conference, Fawad Chaudhry’s brothers—Faraz Chaudhry, Faisal Chaudhry, Foaq Sher Baaz, and the head of their household, Chaudhry Shahbaz Hussain—locked the press club to thwart her conference. further claiming there was a police attempt to arrest her.
Earlier, in an interview with Hum News, Hiba Fawad had conveyed that her husband intended to contest elections as an independent candidate, with her actively seeking votes for him.
She added, “I am in direct communication with Fawad Chaudhry through a messaging app; the rest of the decision will be made by Fawad Chaudhry himself.”
It’s worth noting that bail has been granted to Fawad Chaudhry in a corruption case, and his release order has been issued
