The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended West Indies cricketer Jevon Searles along with two team officials, Chittaranjan Rauthur and Trevin Griffith, over alleged breaches of the anti-corruption code.
According to the ICC, the suspensions relate to corruption allegations linked to the BIM T10 League held in Barbados.
Charges under anti-corruption code
The ICC stated that the individuals face several charges under its Anti-Corruption Code. These include alleged involvement in match-fixing or attempts to fix matches, encouraging corrupt practices, and failing to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
In addition, Trevin Griffith has been specifically charged for not cooperating with the ICC’s investigation into the alleged violations.
Suspension from all cricket activities
The ICC confirmed that all three individuals have been suspended from every form of cricket activity while the investigation continues.
The global cricket body reiterated its commitment to protecting the integrity of the sport and enforcing strict action against corruption in cricket.
