IGP Zulfiqar Hameed Visits Injured Hangu DPO Khalid Khan at CMH Peshawar

Peshawar, July 22, 2025 — Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, made a special visit to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar today to inquire about the health of District Police Officer (DPO) Hangu, Muhammad Khalid Khan, who was injured during an operation against Fitna Khawarij in Hangu.

The incident took place yesterday during an intelligence-based operation in the sensitive areas of Zargari, Shanawari, and surrounding localities of Hangu. Acting on confirmed reports of militant presence, the DPO personally led the operation from the front, displaying remarkable courage and leadership in the fight against terrorists. During the fierce exchange, he sustained serious injuries.

At CMH, the IGP met DPO Khalid Khan, praised his unwavering dedication, bravery, and exceptional courage, and offered words of encouragement. He said that Khalid Khan’s leadership and commitment to duty reflect the proud traditions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. “He is not only a responsible officer but also a role model for every member of the force. His fearless act of leading from the front without regard for his own safety is a shining example of bravery and duty. His heroic actions will be written in golden letters in the history of the police,” the IGP remarked.

IGP Zulfiqar Hameed also spoke with senior doctors at the hospital, instructing them to ensure the best possible treatment and provide all necessary medical facilities for the injured DPO. He met with the family members of Khalid Khan and assured them that the entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police stands by them in this difficult time.

The IGP prayed for the swift recovery of DPO Khalid Khan and reaffirmed that the police will continue their fight against terrorism to the very end, ensuring the safety of the people at all costs.
