ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court reinstated Imran Khan’s bail in the Toshakhana case while disposing of his petition in the £190 million case. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri, forming the divisional bench, delivered the reserved verdict on Wednesday.
The court revived Khan’s bail application, which had been dismissed due to his non-appearance in the Toshakhana case. However, the pre-arrest bail application in the £190 million case wasn’t reinstated, as the arrest had already been executed, leading to the application’s disposal.
On Monday, accountability court Judge Muhammad Bashir approved the issuance of warrants, instructing the jail superintendent to ensure compliance. Subsequently, a NAB team arrested Khan within Adiala jail, where he is currently held in NAB court custody.
During the arrest, the NAB team also queried the PTI chief about the Al-Qadir Trust case. Earlier reports had indicated that NAB opted for immediate arrest following the issuance of warrants, with a subsequent notification allowing for a jail trial in the Al-Qadir case.
