The ongoing technical-level talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the Economic Review are reviewing the first quarter data provided by the government to the IMF while the IMF has also asked the government for a report on the losses of government institutions.
According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, a preliminary report based on the losses of government institutions has been submitted to the IMF, but the IMF has requested a new report instead of the old data, on which the authorities have asked the Ministry of Finance to extend the IMF’s balance sheet up to 2023. Time has been taken.
Sources say that the performance of the established central monitoring unit related to the losses of the institutions was reviewed. The Central Monitoring Unit team will provide a first review report to the IMF. The government also assured to provide the new report to the IMF soon. According to the sources, the report on the losses of government enterprises will be given to the IMF next month.
