ISLAMABAD: Police have filed a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including founder Imran Khan, for alleged vandalism, terrorism, and blocking main highways during a recent protest in Islamabad.
The case, lodged at Tarnol police station, lists key PTI figures such as Imran Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and opposition leader Omar Ayub, among others, alongside 350 unidentified activists. The charges include terrorism and attempted murder.
According to the FIR, the accused allegedly opened fire on police officers, held them hostage, and detained them during the protest. Ali Amin Gandapur is also accused of misusing government resources, while Azam Swati allegedly financed the protestors. Imran Khan is charged with inciting violence against the state, with law enforcement intensifying efforts to apprehend those involved.
