Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have been indicted in the alleged illegal nikah case during a hearing in Adiala jail, overseen by District and Sessions Court Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah.
Initially present in court, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi awaited their lawyers, who were delayed. Subsequently, Bushra Bibi left the court, citing health issues and heading to the hospital.
Addressing the situation, Judge Qudratullah questioned if she had obtained permission to leave, emphasizing proper court procedures.
Lawyer Usman Gill informed the court about Bushra Bibi’s health and departure.
Judge Qudratullah expressed concern, questioning the fulfillment of commitments and recalling previous hearings where arrest warrants were temporarily withdrawn based on trust in Latif Khosa.
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had sought a response from Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband Khawar Maneka in the alleged illegal nikah case, following a petition filed by Bushra Bibi challenging the charges.
The local court in Islamabad had initially scheduled Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s indictment for January 10, but it was adjourned to January 15 after delays on both January 10 and 11.
