ISLAMABAD: The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, and his wife Bushra Bibi are expected to be indicted in the Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust corruption cases today. The Accountability Court, conducting the proceedings at Adiala Jail, had to postpone the charges on Monday due to Bushra Bibi’s absence, rescheduling it for today.
Imran Khan and his sisters attended the hearing, where the PTI chief and his wife’s counsel, as well as National Accountability Bureau (NAB) representatives, were present. If Bushra Bibi fails to appear today, sources suggest that the court may issue arrest warrants for her.
During the hearing, copies of the Al-Qadir Trust case were provided to Imran Khan. The court couldn’t proceed with charges on Monday due to Bushra Bibi’s absence.
In the Al-Qadir Trust case, NAB has nominated several individuals, including Imran Khan, his wife, and others. Notably, six of the accused, including Malik Riaz and Shehzad Akbar, are declared absconders. The court has issued perpetual arrest warrants for these individuals. The legal proceedings are unfolding amidst the complexities of corruption allegations and legal intricacies.
