RAWALPINDI: The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) refused to participate in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) probe regarding ‘controversial’ social media post from his official X (Twitter) account.
The FIA team arrived at Adiala Jail late at night to meet with the PTI founder.
According to jail sources, the PTI founder declined to answer any questions posed by the FIA team.
“I will answer any questions in the presence of my lawyers,” he stated.
Sources claimed that the FIA team obtained the PTI founder’s stance in writing.
Earlier, the FIA Cybercrime Cell had sent a letter to the authorities requesting access to the incarcerated PTI founder to inquire about the ‘controversial’ post on his social media X handle.
The letter stated that anti-state propaganda had been disseminated through the PTI founder’s official social media account, specifically targeting institutions such as the Pakistan Army.
The video posted on May 26 aimed to distort facts, incite rebellion among officers and soldiers, and create unrest within various state institutions.
The FIA Cybercrime Cell noted that this video is a clear violation of the PICA Act 2016 and requested access to the PTI founder in jail for further investigation.
