ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), made a request for a dental checkup during a court session in Rawalpindi on Friday.
The Accountability Court, presided over by Judge Nasir Javed Rana, was hearing the case involving £190 million filed against Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
During the proceedings at Adiala Jail, where the hearing took place, Bushra Bibi met her husband after a gap of two and a half weeks. Imran Khan, addressing the court, sought permission for a dental checkup, stating that he hadn’t seen a doctor in seven months. Judge Rana suggested utilizing the medical facilities available in the jail. However, Imran Khan expressed concern about his age and the possibility of needing dental care, to which the judge assured that appropriate orders would be issued upon application.
Imran Khan mentioned his desire for a dental checkup at the age of 70, expressing apprehension about potential tooth extractions by the prison doctor. The court responded by advising him to submit a formal request, assuring a proper order would be issued.
Meanwhile, legal representatives of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi requested copies of the reference during the hearing. The court adjourned the proceedings and scheduled the next hearing for February 27, specifically for the indictment proceedings in the £190 million case.
