In the ongoing Cipher case in Islamabad, the trial has been formally initiated and presided over by Judge Abul Hasnat at Adyala Jail.
Notably, Imran Khan is slated to be indicted on the 17th of October, marking a significant development in the legal proceedings. As the trial commenced, Government prosecutor Zulfiqar Hassan Naqvi, along with Imran Khan’s lawyer Salman Safdar Butt and Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s daughter and son, arrived at the court premises.
Concurrently, the FIA’s team and the Investigation officer were present, equipped with a copy of the Challan. Within the courtroom, Imran Khan’s legal team received a copy of the Challan pertinent to the Cipher case. Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi were physically present during the proceedings, with Khan engaging in discussions with his lawyer behind bars.
During the course of the hearing, Prosecutor Zulfiqar Hassan Naqvi contended that they couldn’t disclose all documents related to the case, but they had shared essential ones.
Subsequently, the court decided that Imran Khan would face indictment on the 17th of October. The court also directed that all government witnesses be presented on the specified date.
This marks the official initiation of the Cipher case, with the court’s decisive ruling shaping the course of the legal proceedings.
