Indian Air Force Training Aircraft Crashes in Prayagraj

An Indian Air Force (IAF) training aircraft crashed during a routine training flight in Prayagraj on Wednesday, Indian media reported.

According to initial details, the aircraft was on a scheduled training mission when it developed a technical fault mid-air, causing the pilot to lose control. The aircraft later crashed into a nearby pond, resulting in its complete destruction.

Following the incident, teams from the Indian Air Force, local administration, and rescue services rushed to the crash site and launched relief and search operations.

Eyewitnesses said a loud explosion-like sound was heard moments before the aircraft rapidly descended and fell into the water. Panic spread briefly in the area, while security forces cordoned off the site as a precaution.

Indian Air Force officials confirmed that a formal investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the crash.

So far, no casualties have been confirmed, officials said, adding that final details would be shared after the completion of rescue and recovery operations.
