In another deadly episode of LoC violations, Indian forces launched unprovoked shelling across the Line of Control, killing five civilians in Pakistan. More than ten others sustained injuries in the cross-border attack. The intense shelling continued overnight in multiple areas of the Poonch division.
The violence hit Rawalakot, Hajira, Neelum Valley, and Kotli. In response, the Pakistan Army retaliated with full force, silencing several Indian posts across the LoC. Local authorities confirmed that the Indian Army targeted civilian zones, escalating tensions once again.
In Kotli’s Khoirta sector, four innocent lives were lost. Among the martyrs was a young girl. The shelling injured over ten people. All of them were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kotli for urgent treatment.
Tragedy also struck Rawalakot. Osama Ishrat, a 22-year-old resident of Kotdi Najam Khan, was martyred by Indian fire. Osama had been married just ten days before his death. His two sisters suffered injuries. In nearby Hajira, three more people were wounded due to the unprovoked firing. They were quickly shifted to the local hospital.
Meanwhile, in Neelum Valley, LoC violations by Indian forces entered their third consecutive day. Civilian areas in Shahkot, Jura, Athmaqam, Dodanial, Sharda, Kiel, and Helmat came under fire. Pakistani troops responded immediately, striking back at Indian positions and halting the artillery attacks.
In Upper Kiel, an injured youth was shifted to a medical facility. Mortar shells also hit the local NADRA office, damaging the structure. In Athmaqam, authorities declared a medical emergency to handle the rising number of injured civilians.
In a shocking development, reports revealed that the Indian Army had planted toy bombs near the LoC. These devices have caused panic among local residents. Officials urged the public to stay away from any suspicious objects to avoid further casualties.
As tensions soar, the Pakistan Army has increased its defensive posture. In the early hours of the morning, Pakistani forces shot down an Indian quadcopter. The unmanned aerial vehicle was brought down in the Baghsar area of Samahani, Azad Kashmir, at 3:15 AM.
This new wave of LoC violations has triggered fresh alarm. With each act of aggression, the risk of escalation continues to grow.
