India’s intelligence agency, RAW, has officially established a Balochistan Desk at its headquarters. This desk is tasked with spreading organized propaganda against Pakistan, using artificial intelligence to destabilize the country from within.
The main aim of this digital operation is to create global mistrust toward Pakistan. The focus lies in promoting separatist narratives in Balochistan, discrediting Pakistan’s state institutions, and damaging its international reputation.
The RAW Balochistan Desk has a specialized team that includes social media experts, AI engineers, and video editors. Together, they create fake videos designed to appear authentic. These videos include fabricated scenes of state brutality, false allegations against Pakistani authorities, and manipulated voiceovers and locations to make the content look real.
Fake characters and staged stories are portrayed in these AI-generated videos. The content is then spread through a vast social media network, using accounts that pose as Baloch activists, human rights defenders, or foreign analysts. These accounts aim to mislead global audiences and shape a negative narrative against Pakistan.
Indian media, particularly figures like journalist Aditya Raj Kaul, play a key role in this campaign. They broadcast these fake videos as “exclusive” or “breaking news” to influence international media outlets.
Pakistani authorities have taken serious notice of this disinformation campaign. Measures involving cyber intelligence and digital tracing are now underway. Officials are working to expose the network and counter this hostile propaganda.
Earlier, the EU DisinfoLab revealed that India operated hundreds of fake NGOs and media outlets to spread lies against Pakistan. These fake platforms were used to amplify misinformation and manipulate public perception globally.
Pakistani experts have urged the international community, including the United Nations, the European Union, and major tech companies, to take immediate action against this digital warfare led by RAW’s Balochistan Desk. They stressed the need to regulate these propaganda tactics and support truth-based reporting.
