Intelligence-based operations have been conducted by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, neutralising 23 terrorists between May 26 and 27. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement on Monday confirming these successful missions.
On May 26, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Hassan Khel, Peshawar district. They gunned down six terrorists and busted multiple hideouts. Captain Hussain Jehangir and Havildar Shafiq Ullah embraced martyrdom, fighting bravely during the operation.
The following day, another intelligence-based operation took place in the Tank district. Ten terrorists were killed after troops effectively engaged their location.
The third engagement occurred in the Bagh area of Khyber district. Here, security forces neutralised seven terrorists and injured two more. During this intense exchange of fire, five brave soldiers were martyred. They included Naik Muhammad Ashfaq Butt, Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar, Sepoy Taimoor Malik, Sepoy Nadir Sageer, and Sepoy Muhammad Yasin.
A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the neutralised terrorists. These terrorists had been actively involved in numerous attacks against security forces and innocent civilians.
Sanitisation operations are ongoing to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining threats. The security forces remain determined to eradicate terrorism from the country. The sacrifices of these brave soldiers only strengthen their resolve.
Last week, the Pakistan Army raised concerns about militants using Afghan soil. There has been a surge in infiltration attempts and terror incidents from the neighboring country. The statement highlighted ongoing counter-terror operations in Balochistan’s Zhob district since April 21. These operations have resulted in the neutralisation of 29 terrorists so far.
Security forces are committed to wiping out the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices reinforce their determination.
