The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has made a significant announcement regarding its plans for public rallies in Punjab, with a schedule spanning from October 13 to October 28.
These rallies are of particular importance due to the anticipation of upcoming elections in the last week of January 2024, as indicated by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in an earlier announcement.
However, it’s important to note that no official election schedule has been released as of now, causing uncertainty among concerned parties.
The IPP has strategically planned its rally series, commencing on October 28 from Khanewal and featuring a total of 9 rallies in its initial phase.
The subsequent rallies are set to take place in Hafizabad on November 3, Narowal on November 9, Layyah on November 12, Kasur on November 17, Gujranwala on November 20, Jhang on November 24, Sahiwal on December 2, and Faisalabad on December 9.
The party’s campaign will then extend to Multan, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, and Bahawalpur in a second phase. A notable development came when the ECP, led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and a three-member bench, rendered its reserved verdict.
In this decision, the ECP allocated the election symbol ‘eagle’ to the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), a symbol that the party had petitioned for. This decision sets the stage for the party’s active participation in the upcoming elections.
