UNITED NATIONS: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday urged world governments at the United Nations to isolate Iran, charging that Tehran’s leadership sows “chaos, death and destruction.”
“We ask all nations to isolate Iran´s regime as long as its aggression continues,” Trump told the General Assembly.
He said the US has launched campaign of economic pressure to deny Iran funds for regional behaviour, adding that more sanctions will follow after resumption of oil sanctions.
He said the US will respond if chemical weapons are deployed by the Assad regime in Syria.
Trump also said that any solution for Syria must include plan to deal with Iran.
Trump said that the United States would only give aid to countries that it regarded as allies.
“We will examine what is working, what is not working, and whether the countries who receive our dollars and our protection also have our interests at heart,” Trump said.
“Moving forward, we are only going to give foreign aid to those who respect us and frankly are our friends.”– Agencies
