Iran Missile Attack on Israel Destroys Soroka Hospital, Dozens Injured in Beersheba Strike

BEERSHEBA: A powerful Iran missile attack on Israel struck the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba early Thursday morning. The ballistic missile caused serious damage to the hospital, which was treating soldiers injured in the Gaza conflict. Air raid sirens echoed across multiple Israeli cities during the assault.

The Israeli military confirmed that 20 to 30 ballistic missiles were launched from Iranian territory at 7:03 am. This was the largest Iran missile attack on Israel in the past two days, according to IDF sources.

At least seven impact sites have been confirmed so far. These include three in the Gush Dan region and one direct strike on the Soroka Hospital. Israeli authorities reported over 50 people injured in total. Several are in serious condition, including an 80-year-old man.

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, reacted strongly. In a post on X, he stated that Iran would “pay a heavy price” for attacking civilians and a major hospital. He called Iran’s leaders “terrorist dictators.”

Hospital officials confirmed that multiple sections of Soroka Medical Center were damaged. The older surgical building suffered the worst hit. Rescue teams rushed to the scene. Patients and medical staff were evacuated. Some individuals were trapped in elevators after the blast and were later rescued.

The Iran missile attack on Israel is part of Operation True Promise III. Iranian forces launched this fourteenth phase on Thursday. According to Iranian military sources, new-generation missiles were used in the strike. Many of these weapons were deployed for the first time.

Reports from regional observers and footage on social media show missiles cutting through Israel’s defense systems. Explosions were heard across Tel Aviv, Holon, and other cities. Panic spread as civilians ran to bomb shelters. At least 30 people suffered minor injuries across various sites.

In Holon, three people were reported seriously injured. Emergency services, fire brigades, and medical teams continue to respond in affected areas. The Israeli Fire and Rescue Service is working non-stop to secure damaged buildings and evacuate those in danger.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed the use of the Sejjil two-stage heavy ballistic missile in the operation. Their statement declared that Israel’s air defense systems are now depleted. They warned settlers in the occupied lands that Iranian missiles and drones now dominate the skies.

The IRGC statement made further threats. It referred to Tuesday’s missile barrage that destroyed Israeli intelligence centers and a fighter jet base. The group claimed the “gates of hell” had opened for Zionists. They warned settlers to either stay buried in underground shelters or return to their ancestors’ lands.

This Iran missile attack on Israel is part of a larger retaliation. The Iranian response followed Israeli operations that allegedly killed several high-ranking Iranian commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians, including women and children. Tehran views this response as a message of strength and deterrence.
