Iran-US Negotiations in Islamabad Bring Tight Security and Citywide Restrictions

Iran-US negotiations in Islamabad

Iran-US negotiations in Islamabad have prompted strict security measures across the twin cities as Pakistan prepares to host high-level talks between the two countries. The meeting comes after a two-week ceasefire that Pakistan helped arrange, raising hopes for further progress.

Authorities have stepped up surveillance in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Security teams have launched search operations in several key areas, including Sabzi Mandi, Faizabad, Tarnol, Shehzad Town, and Karachi Company. Similar checks are ongoing in nearby regions such as Taxila, Murree, Chakwal, and Attock. Police, Rangers, and intelligence agencies are working together to keep the situation under control.

Officials are closely monitoring entry and exit points. They are also checking residential records and using intelligence-based screening to prevent any threat. The process is being carried out in phases to ensure safety without causing panic. Citizens have been asked to cooperate during these checks.

Iran-US negotiations in Islamabad have also led to a detailed traffic plan. Authorities have redirected vehicles to reduce congestion and avoid sensitive routes. Travelers from Peshawar and Lahore have been given alternate routes through Taxila Motorway, Chak Beli Road, and Rawat. Commuters moving between Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been advised to use Ninth Avenue.

Several key roads will remain closed. The Expressway from Zero Point to Coral Chowk will stay shut in both directions. Traffic near the Red Zone will face complete restrictions, and heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter the capital until April 10.

Iran-US negotiations in Islamabad have further affected daily life, as the local administration has announced a two-day holiday. Schools and offices will remain closed on April 9 and 10, while essential services will continue to operate as usual.
