ISLAMABAD: Iranian Ambassador Raza Amiri emphasized that the Pak-Iran gas pipeline aims to strengthen strategic ties between the two nations. He expressed a desire to establish sister ports by linking Gwadar and Chah Bahar.
During a ceremony held in his honor at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, Ambassador Amiri underscored Iran’s commitment to enhancing trade and regional cooperation with Pakistan through the opening of additional border crossing points.
He expressed his intention to integrate Iran into the rail link and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project. Ambassador Amiri noted that bilateral trade between the two countries had reached $2.50 billion in the past 11 months.
Furthermore, he confirmed that the Iranian president would soon visit Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Ambassador Amiri also emphasized Iran’s stance of refraining from establishing any relations with Israel amidst the ongoing strikes in Gaza.
