PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan died here at a private hospital on Saturday morning just a day after he was admitted to a hospital.
After his death, a constitutional question was raised about whether the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa- KP cabinet, appointed by Azam Khan, had been dissolved or not.
Former secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan, Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad, clarified that with the passing of the Chief Executive, the entire provincial cabinet automatically stands dissolved. All executive authorities and powers now temporarily rest with the Governor Haji Ghulam Ali.
He said that the province now faces a period of transition as power shifts to the Governor.
