Adiala Jail authorities have officially confirmed that Imran Khan’s jail facilities meet all legal standards for B-Class prisoners. They stressed that the former Prime Minister is receiving proper care, amenities, and security under prison rules.
Khan is held in a two-cell unit inside the prison. He has a private courtyard where he walks and cycles daily. The jail administration said that he spends two hours each day exercising in the open air.
His jail conditions include full access to books, newspapers, and LED lights. Khan personally selects the reading material provided to him. He even has a dedicated prisoner assigned as his cook. This cook prepares three daily meals based on Khan’s preferences.
Unlike other B-Class inmates, Khan receives additional comforts. These jail privileges have sparked debate, but prison officials insist everything is within the legal framework.
According to jail doctors, his health is stable. Medical officers check his vitals three times a day. Reports from the last two weeks show no signs of any illness.
In the past three months, 66 visitors — including lawyers, party leaders, and elected members — have met with Khan. He has also spoken directly with journalists during court hearings held inside the jail.
Since his imprisonment, Khan has issued 413 tweets through his team. These statements have guided PTI workers on major national events such as the 2024 general elections, the Sialkot by-election, and the protest on November 26, 2024.
Khan’s remarks have made headlines 45 times in under a year. He has also communicated with at least 10 major international media outlets. These include The Telegraph, Reuters, ITV, Fox News, and the Wall Street Journal.
Despite rumours online, Adiala Jail officials have rejected claims of mistreatment. They called such talk baseless and politically motivated.
The prison management insists that Imran Khan’s jail facilities not only follow the rules but actually exceed what other prisoners in the same category receive. Officials say no discrimination is being done, and Khan enjoys better conditions than any other inmate currently held at Adiala.
