Ishaq Dar and Marco Rubio Agree to Strengthen Pakistan-US Cooperation

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and discussed matters of mutual interest, including Pakistan-US relations, regional developments and global issues.

According to the Foreign Office, both leaders expressed satisfaction over positive progress in bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States.

The two foreign ministers also reviewed the regional and international situation during the meeting.

Foreign Office spokesperson said Marco Rubio appreciated Pakistan’s mediation efforts for peace and stability.

Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in trade, investment and other areas of mutual interest.

The meeting reflected the continued engagement between Pakistan and the United States on diplomatic, economic and security matters.

According to the Foreign Office, both foreign ministers agreed to enhance cooperation in security and counter-terrorism.

They also agreed to further advance the Pakistan-US partnership.

The two sides discussed ways to improve coordination on regional stability and shared security concerns.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently held meetings with investors in China.

He said the Prime Minister is committed to attracting foreign investment into Pakistan.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that historic business-to-business agreements were reached during the Prime Minister’s visit to China.

Ishaq Dar said Pakistan is working to provide a favorable environment for foreign investors.

He said the government is focused on strengthening economic diplomacy and creating new opportunities for international investment.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, security and regional peace.
